Learning Methods
We recognize that people learn in different ways, using a variety of learning styles. AMA seminars accommodate these differences through:
A variety of teaching/learning methods makes the seminars more interesting and help participants recognize the many different ways to learn, both in the classroom and on the job.
A professional learning environment. Our learning centers in New York, Atlanta, Washington, DC, Chicago and San Francisco are state-of-the-art learning environments designed to help participants focus on learning and minimize distractions. To the greatest extent possible, AMA tries to duplicate this atmosphere in our other seminar locations and at customer worksites.
Interactive learning methods enable participants to share their own unique experiences and learn from each other, as well as from faculty. Our average class size of 15 to 20 participants allows for this interaction.
Relevance to the participant’s unique circumstances. The action plan at the end of every AMA course encourages participants to identify their own most important learning points and to develop strategies to apply what they have learned to their daily work.
Customized content. Each participant comes with a set of unique learning needs. Our faculty ensures that course content is tailored to meet each attendee’s objectives by asking for his or her learning goals at the beginning of the seminar and for feedback at the end of each day.
Guidance for learning beyond the classroom. Every AMA seminar includes a recommended reading list. And our new blended learning components provide pre- and post-tests to help participants assess their knowledge before and after the course—plus additional resources that will enable them to keep on learning long after the seminar is over.
